Zeeland, MI – An alliance of public sector, private sector and a religious community has come together in Zeeland to help people who are learning English.
Fabric-based packaging company Integrated Fabric Resource is in its third year of hosting a Zeeland/Holland Adult Education English as a second language class on site for the employees that need it. Integrated Fabric Resource also has a church, LifeQuest, using its facilities, and many church members are volunteering in the classes.
Zeeland MI – IFR Inc. is proud to partner up with Ottawa Area Intermediate School District’s futurePREP’d IChallengeUth, a program that gives middle school students the opportunity to develop solutions to real problems that local corporations and other organizations grapple with every day. This one-week, summer educational opportunity pairs middle school students with master teachers from the Ottawa area and a “coach” representing the sponsor organization to develop solutions to identified business challenges through research and evaluative processes. Team IFR Inc. took 1st place out of 12 teams at OAISD futurePREP’d IChallengeUth program on Wednesday, July 29! Congratulations to these students who proudly represented IFR Inc.
IFR Inc. is very proud to announce the 2015 Employee Scholarship recipients: Lily Chan, daughter of Jean Chan, Violeta Lio King, step daughter of Jose Villa, and Mason Rosado, son of Ray Rosado. The 3 recipients will be receiving $7,000 scholarships on top of the $2,000 IFR Inc. donates to every employee that has a child or children who are currently enrolled in college.
So far this year, IFR Inc. has donated $57,000. This equals out to 18 students and the 3 recipients.
We wish Lilly, Violeta, Mason, and all the students the best in their pursuit of higher education and are glad that we were able to share this happy moment with them and their families.
ZEELAND, MI, July 14 – Integrated Fabric Resource (IFR) announces the start of an additional North American manufacturing facility in Irapuato, Mexico. IFR has had a sales presence in Mexico for several years and is following this investment with this announcement to better serve its growing Mexican customer base.
IFR’s new building is located in the center of the Mexican Automotive Manufacturing Industry. With the additional production facility, IFR will increase their manufacturing capacity of textile-based returnable packaging systems, along with production of SpeedCell® Storage Solutions, a product of Holland Storage Systems. With the establishment of this new facility in Irapuato, IFR will have two manufacturing facilities and six sales offices in North America. “Our commitment to manufacture product in Mexico reflects the decision we made several years ago to begin providing our services for customers in Mexico. Our commitment at that time was to serve them with the same level of performance that our customers in the United States and Canada enjoy,” said President of IFR Inc., Doug Buma. “This facility and our Mexican operations team will allow us to make good on that commitment. We look forward to building on the relationships that we enjoy in Mexico.”
Zeeland, MI – IFR Inc partners up with Bethany Christian Services for their International Community Cup Soccer Tournament June 19-20, 2015. Some of the team members/employees stopped by WOTV4Women’s show, “Where You Live,” to talk about how Bethany has helped them and about how soccer has been a huge part of their lives.
Zeeland, MI – IFR, Inc. is participating in a program called futurePrep Connections which exposes middle school students in Ottawa County to business. futurePREP Connections is a unique public/private partnership between the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District, local school districts, colleges/universities, economic development Agencies, chambers of commerce and businesses/organizations.
IFR, Inc. hosted a group of middle school students and teachers who worked on a project for our company. Our hope is that we will be able to host teams like this every year. In conjunction with the program, we will be featured in a new TV Series.
June 5th, 2014 – IFR, Inc. (Holland Awning Group of Companies) hosted a reception celebrating this year’s Employee Scholarship recipients; Selena Lundy, daughter of Jodie Lundy, who will be attending Grand Valley State University and Quang Ho, son of Chang Lam, who is attending Michigan State University. Both Selena and Quang will be receiving a $7,000 scholarship.
Attending the reception at the Yacht Basin Conference Center were Steve Schaftenaar and Scott Smith. This is the 3rd year in a row where IFR, Inc. has offered this scholarship to its employee’s family.
In addition to the Employee Scholarship, every year IFR, Inc. donates $2,000 to every employee that has a child or children who are currently enrolled in college. This year, we donated $26,000.
IFR, Inc. strives to make a difference in the community and people’s lives in general; the giving of the Holland Awning Group Employee Scholarship gives IFR a chance to accomplish both of these goals while providing young people an opportunity at higher education.

Zeeland, MI – On Friday, December 20th, the Holland Awning Group – Integrated Fabric Resource, Big Red Resources, and Holland Storage Systems – celebrated Christmas in style.
On a snowy and icy day, over 200 employees celebrated the Christmas holiday with a catered dinner, office decorating contest, raffled prizes, and announcements of anniversaries. There were plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the day. We even took a little time to be able to take this picture to share with you!
